    In the Italian Open final on Sunday in Rome, 2nd seeded # 2 Kim Clijsters of Belgium defeated 4th seeded Amelie Mauresmo of France 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-0 (photos shown).

    Kim now leads Amelie 3-2 in career matches, and Kim has won the last two in a row. It was Kim's 13th WTA singles title in 23 finals.

    Trivia: Former (father of the current) US President George Bush is said to have attended the match. He must really be getting around, since he was in Mexico on Tuesday.

    The time in Italy is UCT (GMT, Zulu, Greenwich...) plus 2 hours. That is 9 hours ahead of PDT in the US, 6 hours ahead of EDT. Early round play begins at 1PM local.
