    On Saturday in Azerbaijan, in the final of the Baku Cup, 23 year old #134 (career high: #134) Julia Cohen from Philadelphia, PA, defeated 20 year old 5th seeded #95 (career high: #50) Bojana Jovanovski from Belgrade, Serbia, 6-3, 6-1 (Julia is shown during the match, Bojana is shown holding the hardware afterward).

    Bojana's prize is $37,000; Julia's prize is $19,000.

    Bojana said: "I've worked really hard for this. I had two weeks of really hard preparation before this tournament, so I was expecting to play well here... It feels great to win my first title." WTA story

    Julia said: "I was a bit tired, but [Bojana] played really well. I hope next time I can win."

    Bojana and Julia had never before met on the field of combat.

    Bojana was playing in her first WTA singles final. She has won 3 ITF singles titles. Bojana's singles match record this season is 22-19; her career record is 165-106 (61%).

    Julia was also playing in her first WTA singles final. She has won 5 ITF singles titles and 3 ITF doubles titles. Julia's 2012 singles match record is 23-23; her career record is 227-204 (53%).
